The Lake District, holds a World Heritage status, is England’s largest national park, home to England’s deepest and longest lakes.
With so much to explore, a two or three night weekend or mid-week break is ideal. To fulfil the adventurous side in you climb Scarfell pike, the highest mountain in England which see’s hundreds of thousands of visitors reach the summit each year.
The Lake District also has many links to literature, in particular Beatrix Potter, where she took inspiration for her famous children’s books; you can even visit her home, Hill top in Hawkshead.
