Fan of the Emmy Award-winning period drama? Discover these Downton Abbey filming locations. A range of UK heritage attractions have been seen on screen bringing the Edwardian era show to life. Highlights include Highclere Castle as Downton Abbey itself with its ornate state rooms, Alnwick Castle starring as Brancaster Castle during two Christmas specials and Beamish Museum, used for scenes in the latest feature-length film.

Walk in the footsteps of London’s high society and scandal by visiting these Bridgerton filming locations. Visit Hampton Court Palace, that starred as Queen Charlotte’s residency located on the bank of the Thames. Other Bridgerton filming locations include the Theatre Royal in Brighton and the Historic Dockyard in Chatham, near Kent. Though, the South West city of Bath was a favoured film spot featuring its Assembly Rooms, Royal Crescent and more.

None other than Britain’s favourite time-travelling doctor used Caerphilly Castle as a filming location for an episode from series 9 of Doctor Who starring Peter Capaldi. This 13th century fortress is the second largest in Britain, complete with gatehouses, defences and atmospheric halls. We’re not sure you’ll see any sonic screwdrivers lying around though! Several attractions in South Wales have been used for Doctor Who filming locations, with Cardiff being the official home of the show since 2005

Enola Holmes (2023)
Worcestershire’s Severn Valley Railway played most recently played a role in the hit Netflix 2023 film Enola Holmes with locomotive No. 2857 taking the limelight in the Sherlock Holmes ‘spin-off’. Narnia film fans might also recognise sections of the line that have featured in The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (2005)

The blockbuster film series showcases several iconic British locations in its latest instalment, "Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning." Notably, the Tower of London and Blenheim Palace have featured as well as various monuments in London. London has served as a virtual second home for the series, with memorable scenes such as the team's final debrief over a beer at the Anchor Tavern in Bankside near the Tate Modern.
